Persol has been manufacturing high quality sunglasses since 1917, making them one the oldest manufacturers of sunglasses in the world. Based in Italy, Persol sunglasses reflect the Italian flare for design and have been a favorite among celebrities for many years. Persol is currently owned by the Luxottica Group, an Italian multinational eyewear company that owns other quality brands and retail outlets such as Ray-Ban, Lenscrafters, SunGlass Hut, and Oakley. Some of the major stars who wear Persol include: Steve McQueen wore the 649 and had Persol design a special folding pair for him, which is now sold as the 714. Daniel Craig wore the 2720 in Casino Royale Jake Gyllemhaal wears a pair of 2747 frames in Rendition Pierce Brosnan wore the Persol 2672 in Die Another Day and the Persol 2720 in Mamma Mia!
